Just Chatting, also known as IRL, covers a wide variety of content usually done “In Real Life” as opposed to inside a video game. Streamers in this category can be traveling around the world or just sitting on their couch having a lunch break from their gaming session. The section was initially born on Twitch with the release of Pokemon Go. At that time, non-gaming content was prohibited and the new Pokemon game was the only way to live stream in the outside world while respecting the platform’s TOS. The format quickly became so popular that it now has multiple categories on both Twitch and Kick.com, with Just Chatting being the most popular.
